We are loving Mia's new school. Tonight was Open House which included a barbecue dinner (Daddy's favorite!), a Scholastic Book Fair that was awesome, Lacey, and of course the best Jr. Kindergarten teacher in the world!

The Fair Came to Town!
We took Mia to the fair yesterday. It was actually a pretty nice to day to go with an overcast sky and occasional drop or two. It was fun! Mia loved the rides and the longer we were there - the more brave she became. Tim and I laughed about how much fairs have not changed since we were children - the same corn dogs, cotton candy, rides, etc. Mia is already asking to go back next year!!!
Junior Kindergarten - A New School and New Experience!
Mia has been asking us for two years to go to preschool everyday. We pray she will continue to love learning as she does now. We decided she was very ready to go to a Junior Kindergarten rather than preschool and enrolled her at a local private Christian school (Big Girl School, Mommy!). We quickly found out this was the right thing to do. She has already learned so much and absolutely loves it. What do we love? That she only goes to school until noon and we just love that BIG smile when we pick her up!!!! Here are a few pictures of her in her school uniform - I just LOVE uniforms!!!
The picture of Mia with a teddy bear was from the week they studied the letter T. The school uses The Letter People, which is a curriculum using puppets to learn letters - I love the idea and Mia does too. They also use a curriculum for handwriting called Handwriting Without Tears - I wish I had that curriculum when I was teaching third and fourth grade. Great concepts!
Our Amazing Swimmer!
Oh Where Has the Summer Gone?

I can hardly believe the summer is over! It has just been too much fun around here. As you can see from the pictures, Mia is both excited and contemplating all the fun she had this year. She's really growing up.
The picture of Mia with Grace was taken by Grace's mom, Michelle at our annual street July 4th party - always fun!
