Our Girl is Now 5!

It's been a very Happy, Happy Birthday for Mia! We started the day with balloons, had lunch at our favorite restaurant (where they treat Mia like royalty, by the way), and then opened presents. This entire month of December has been all about celebrating the birth of Jesus and His gift to us as our Savior. We also want to thank Him for the gift of Mia. She has changed our lives and we are so very, very glad! Happy Birthday Mia! We love you!

A Very Merry and Snowy Christmas To You!!

Leaving cookies and carrots for Santa. She is so excited!!

Telling Bijou and Rudolph goodbye until next year!

Feeding Santa's reindeer on Christmas Eve

Santa has arrived!

This is just one picture of many Mia is pointing to all the wonderful things from Santa

We could hardly believe it snowed today! Tim and I could not remember ever having a snowy Christmas before. This has to be the absolute best Christmas ever. There is just nothing more wonderful than Christmas and an almost five year old. We love it!

Mia reminded us over and over how Christmas is not about us nor about Santa but about Baby Jesus and His birthday. How smart she is! I pray everyone remembered this very valuable part of this very special holiday.

Merry Christmas and much love to you!

Do You Remember This Day?

Here she is on Gotcha Day, December 17, 2006

Our last very few moments before they brought
Mia to us at the hotel in Nanchang.
Our lives would NEVER be the same!

Here she is now on Gotcha Day, December 17, 2010!

Yesterday was GOTCHA DAY! The day God placed Mia in our arms. We are amazed each day of Mia and what a wonderful gift she is to us! Thank you God for creating this family!

We try very hard each year to make this day special. Today, we had a nice lunch at our favorite restaurant, saw "Tangled", and opened a few "girlie" presents which she adored. It was so fun to spend the whole day just celebrating!

Christmas Program

Getting ready to sing

Italic
On Thursday, Mia had her Christmas program at school. I have to tell you there is nothing more sweeter than listening to children sing about Jesus and this was no exception! I pray she will always, always want to sing His precious name!

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Psalm 100:1

Breakfast With Santa - Third Anniversary!

We just love this tradition every Christmas. When Mia started her second year at preschool, we were introduced to this very fun breakfast. The Grinch is always there and Mia talks a lot about meeting the Grinch both before and after the breakfast. We had a great time and we always run into a lot of people we know and we love.

More and More Birthdays!

Before the transformation! Some of the girls in Mia's JrK class.

Before the eyeshadow:)

Check out the eyeshadow!:)

I have to tell you if I posted every birthday party Mia attended, it would become my full time job! I try to post the highlights, and I can tell you Sweet and Sassy always tops the list. This time was no different at Mabry and Danielle's birthday party. Mia was so excited to get all dressed up in her "girlie clothes" and be a princess for an hour. Well, on to another birthday party:)

Christmas Parade

This is Mia all dressed to go to our town's Christmas Parade. I loved the parade as a child and we went every year. It was such a fun night and we loved every float, band, and walker! Mia like the bands the best. She was dancing and marching right along:) Stay tuned . . . we still have Mia's Christmas program at school, Gotcha Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and her birthday!!!!

Decorating the Tree

It really does seem like Christmas when the Christmas tree is up and all the decorations are out. Every time I pulled a decoration out of the box, it brought back memories of friends, family, and love during this very special season. Merry Christmas!!

He's Back!

Bijou and Rudolph (we FINALLY found out what the reindeer's name is) came back to see us Thanksgiving night and will stay until Christmas Eve. Mia was thrilled to see Bijou once again and excited to know he speaks with Santa every night when he returns to The North Pole. Welcome Back Bijou!!!

What a Fun and DELICIOUS Thanksgiving!

We ate until we just couldn't possibly eat anymore! It was such a fun Thanksgiving spending time with Michael's family at a very special downtown hotel. The hotel had decorated for Christmas, which made it even more magical. As always, Michael and Mia had a great time together!
