Beta Club Induction and the New Vice President

Mia loves school and strives to make all A's. Well, that's what you need to get into the BETA Club! Mia has been elected as Vice President by her peers, and we are so proud of her! (In this first picture, she is dressed to vote for her favorite book on Election Day and dressed as Hermoine Granger - without the cloak):)

Turkey Trot

Every year Mia's school hosts a fundraiser called The Turkey Trot. The students run to raise money. It's always a fun day and the weather was perfect! Mia's a swimmer and not a runner, but she is now in the 3 Mile Club!

Fall Break in Huntsville

Huntsville has an amazing space center! We had heard so much about it and decided to check it out.  You can see how fun Mia thought everything was - the Duck Scavenger Hunt, the Rocket Center, and the NASA center. I'm sure we will do this again!

Student Council

Tim and I are very proud of Mia! She was voted into Student Council by her peers. The Induction is held at the mayor's office with the mayor officiating. This was very important to her, and we are so glad she has this opportunity for leadership. And of course, dinner afterward:)

Got Milk?

Every year at school, they have Milk Day and get to wear milk mustaches. Mia dresses up in her favorite color milk every year. This year, I took it a step further and made a shirt than even smells like chocolate - it was a hit!

Lunch with Friends

Having lunch with Mia is always one of our favorite things to do. Having lunch with friends makes it more fun!

Going to the Zoo

I have to say we have the absolute best zoo around. It's one of our favorite places to go. This was our trip with Cassie and her family. Cassie's grandfather was visiting and treated the girls to panda bears to make the visit even more special!

Who Doesn't Love a Sleepover?

Mia and Cassie are huge Harry Potter fans and loved acting out their favorite parts of the first book. Thanks Michelle and Matt for hosting and helping to boost their creativity (as if they need any help - ha! ha!)!

First Day of 5th Grade!

I asked Mia what she thought about 5th grade - she said NO big deal!

A Trip to Atlanta

When we go home to Atlanta, Mia always wants to go to St. Mountain. This trip didn't disappoint! It was good to see family and friends.

Southeasterns in Nashville (Regionals)

Mia made the Southeastern time for 50 Breast, so we headed to Nashville! It was fun to hang out with friends. Did I mention she took a second and a half off her time when she swam the 50 Breast in Nashville? Awesome, Mia!

A Great Group of Girls

Mia loves her swim team. This is a great group of girls around her age. They have such a good time at practice and meets.

July 4th at Pickwick Lake

Lucy and Bruce were wonderful hosts for us at Pickwick July 4th weekend.  Mia swam, skied, went kneeboarding, and cooked with Lucy. What a GREAT time!
