Thanksgiving Weekend

 Decorating for Christmas

They are all here - Santa, an Elf, and his reindeer!

Mia's Thanksgiving decorations she made at our fabulous local library's craft class on Wednesday.

Bijou is here!  And look what he brought - puzzles!  Of course, we had to start with one of the 500 piece puzzles:)

Tim, Mia and I had such a special family Thanksgiving.  It was fun, relaxing, and one we hope to repeat every year.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.
 Psalm 118:1
(I'm getting better at memorizing verses since Mia is now in
AWANA - what a GREAT Bible curriculum!)

Chorus at Barnes and Noble

Mia loves chorus!  We had our annual chorus concert at Barnes and Noble Bookstore to benefit our elementary school.  As always, our school has the best!

Happy Halloween 2012

 Our Glamorous Goldfish!

Mia's Very Special Friends - (back) Mia, Mary Todd, Sarah
(front) Miller, Kirsten, and Alyssa

Here are some pics of Mia and her friends Trick or Treating on Halloween Night.  We had such a fun time!  We are so blessed to live in such wonderful neighborhood with very special friends and neighbors.  Mia is so fortunate to go to school with friends just around the corner.  Enjoy the pics!

Clever Ways to Carve a Pumpkin

Every year, we try to come up with ways to decorate pumpkins other than the traditional methods of carving.  Mia's good friend Cassie invited us over for dinner and decorating pumpkins. This was Mia's Daddy's idea and it was a hit!  What a great way to get us excited about Halloween!

50s Day in First Grade

As I said earlier, we love Immersion Days!  Mia's school has 50s Day every year so they can learn everything about about the number 50. They play 50s games, listen to music, and eat 1950s food. What a great way to learn!

First Swim Team Competition

As I said earlier in the blog, swimming seems to be Mia's sport. She loves it and she is a perfectionist when it comes to her strokes. Her coach says her best stroke is the Back Stroke, and Tim and I agree.  She had her first swim team meet recently and loved the competition of it all. She even placed and got three ribbons! We are proud of you Mia!

First Day of First Grade

I could hardly believe Kindergarten was over and Mia was beginning FIRST GRADE!  She has grown from a sweet, adorable baby to a sweet adorable little girl.  I thank God everyday for her presence in our lives.

Summer Fun

We were so busy during the summer this year!  Here are a few highlights of some fun things we did including our annual trip to the beach.  Mia spent a lot the summer swimming, playing tennis, and reading, reading, reading!

Camp Invention

Mia really loves school.  She looked forward to Camp Invention for about three months until she and her good friend, Alyssa finally got to go. They loved it!

Kindergarten Hula Day

We love Immersion Days at school. This one was especially fun!  Mia was an adorable Hula Girl!

Sports, and More Sports

It's a wonderful thing to allow your child to try out as much as they can when they are young.  Mia has tried several different sports and has enjoyed all of them.  Her two favorites seem to be tennis and swim, so I think we will stay with both of those for awhile.

Can you decide which one is her absolute favorite???

Easter Sunday

If I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you to myself,
that where I am, there you may be also.  John 14:3
